Yorkeys Knob is a sleepy tropical beach town just 10 minutes north of Cairns. The beach is less than 100m from the house, villas and cottage. Yorkeys Beach has a lovely shaded walk way dotted with gym equipment, free bbq’s, sitting areas, and 2 playgrounds. Take a gentle stroll further along the beach before you come to the most gorgeous area where you can watch the kite surfers flip around on the waves and the dogs are allowed off the lead for a swim or a run without disturbing the sunbathers.
With its own boat club for lazy lunches and dining on the water, and the famous Yorkeys Knob Golf Club all within walking distance there’s not many reasons to leave. The small town has a supermarket, a great bakery (if you like your bread made from scratch, yum!), a fish and chip store and a few small cafe’s and restaurants so you can grab some sushi to go or some ribs on the run.
Yorkeys Knob is the gateway to all things tropical, with all the beauty at your fingertips, spend lazy days on the reef or beautiful walks through rainforest. Hire a car and take a day trip to Port Douglas, the Daintree River, Mossman Gorge or Cape Tribulation. There are so many things to see and do, or you can choose to do nothing but lay on the beach with a great book.
